alden has spent the past two weeks mostly indoors, mostly at home, recovering first from a nasty cough and then from a nasty stomach bug. now that we're all better, he's getting some new teeth! poor guy. it's been a bit of a struggle to keep him happily occupied. we came up with the above song and dance this morning before going out to meet our friends.

today was the last music class of  fall semester and our last class with our friends and birthday buddies jocelyn and walt (both mama and baby share july 15th with alden) and i am sad sad sad about that. they are moving away to california in a week. it was all i could do to hold back the tears during the goodbye song this afternoon. we met jocelyn and walt randomly on the street when the boys were like six weeks old--she invited us to the mama group and quickly became one of our best friends. we see them so often, i'm not sure how als is going to react. he asks for his friends by name almost daily: walt ("wat"), henry ("hen") and coco ("coc") and i always tell him when we'll next see them.
