after christmas from valerie soles on Vimeo.
so i was dreading our trip south for christmas. thanksgiving was filled with tears, coughs and saline drops and i was convinced that this trip would be a repeat. i am so happy to report that it was not! we had a wonderful time with the whitmores, the soleses and the steiner-kozels! photos to prove it are up on flickr.
alden kept a fairly routine schedule the whole long weekend and has even started napping on his own with some consistency. of course, i type this as i'm bouncing him back to sleep after he woke up alone and refused to settle down again. eh! part of that may be that we're experimenting with cloth diapers again and he isn't used to the insult of cold, wet pee against his tush.
so glad to hear you had a nice christmas trip. we still do cloth diapers about 30% of the time, especially at home. have you tried the imse vimse flushable liners? you can wash and reuse them a few times. they seem to help mitigate the cold pee situation for leon.
ReplyDeletethanks erica!
ReplyDeletea friend of ours has been using g diaper covers with the small size chinese prefolds as inserts, so i bought a pack of the covers yesterday to try it out. we still have all of his prefolds from the newborn days and though we use them for spit up emergencies and as impromptu changing pads, it kind of felt like a waste to have them just sitting around. they fit perfectly inside the g diaper covers and so far, so good! but it's only been a day and a half and we used a paper diaper for night time, so we'll see.
i'm thinking we'll probably end up doing cloth part time as well, mostly at home.
