more snow. harumph!
we had plans to visit with alden's birthday buddies this afternoon, but the walk is just a tad too far in the snow. we grouched about it a bit and took a long morning nap together, then headed out to our closest grocery store, the inimitable and awful associated (which we affectionately refer to as The Ass) to pick up the few simple ingredients missing from our apple cake-to-be. here we are doing just that.

coffee, cake and a second nap (alden's alone, i'm not That self-indulgent) and we're happy campers again, listening to the new joanna newsom album and reading eating books on the floor.
