oy. that last post was heavy.

a fresh start.
alden turned six months old on friday! to celebrate, we went for a little walk around the neighborhood with our friend kathryn. later, he has some frozen mango in one of those crazy mesh feeder things. there is footage of that as well, but it involves some crabbin' and this is our lighthearted post! so:

today was a very special day as well. today we took the mango and mixed in some breastmilk in the mini food processor, then strained it, put it in a little wooden bowl and served it up to a properly naked baby. this stuff is sticky, after all. here! he ate a whole teaspoon full! i thought that we were going to end up putting off the real deal solids for a little while longer, but bunny is suddenly really interested and isn't just pushing things back out with his tongue anymore. and he's sitting up! and he's working on his pincer grasp. all signs point to Introducing Solids, so here we are. it's fun!

today was especially special because grandma and grandpa whitmore came to visit! again, we have footage of this, but haven't uploaded it quite yet. ian made some very delicious pizza for them and then later, because alden is now tolerating cow's milk proteins in his breastmilk, he made another one! yes. we had pizza twice in one day. and last night? french fries for dinner. mmmhmm.
