see where alden gets his beautiful eyes? papa.
today we took bunny boy out in the windy cold greyness, onto the L shuttle (oh MTA, how i do hate you right now) and into williamsburg. we walked up to greenpoint and had a distracted lunch at brooklyn label. ian ended up having to eat alone, as our food was served while i was walking three blocks to find somewhere to change mr. i'm-going-to-poo-because-i-sense-that-you're-about-to-eat (seriously, every. single. meal.)
that somewhere ended up being the bench of a booth at the mcdonalds on manhattan avenue. not even the starbucks had a baby changing station. what gives? greenpoint is decidedly un-baby-friendly. we had an easier time taking geoffrey (our dog, who now lives with my parents) places when he was here. seriously. in the summer, every shop in town has water out for dogs! i am by no means begrudging the pups their water and treats. far from it. i'd just enjoy for some of the same courtesies (ok, *similar* courtesies) be extended to baby humans as well. not a changing station to be found. and winter's closing in! no more park changes--what are we to do? i've posed this question to the mama group's facebook page; we'll see if anyone has the answer.
so that had me cranky. that and the fact that alden clearly did not want to go out today. he fussed almost all day. poor little dude. i think he's teething--he's been drooling a lot and sticking is hands into his mouth. i bought him a few different teething rings (one fancy wooden one, shaped like a hedgehog from etsy), but he's not interested. so far he seems to enjoy gnawing on his pacifier. that's fine, but he drops it a lot. i love the little man more than anything, but i am kind of looking forward to his being able to do a few more things for himself. mama needs a few more breaks than the few papa can afford her on weekends. it would be so great to be able to start sewing again. and maybe selling. we would all appreciate that.
